The Rapids got out to a fast start with Carey Terrance, Jr. scoring in the opening minutes of play on an assist from Marco McCarthy. The Casselman Vikings have been a tough draw all year and they handed the Wolves a big loss last Thursday at their home barn. Massena varsity boys and girls sports are kicking off their winter seasons, which includes the Massena Red Raiders 2013-14 state championship hockey team returning to the ice. There is a new face on the Salmon River girls' varsity hockey bench. Olivia Cook, a Salmon River alumnus and hockey standout, has taken over the coaching reigns from Mike Tremblay this season. MASSENA -- The Red Raiders girl's basketball team dropped their home opener to the Canton Golden Bears by a final tally of 71-41 on Friday, Dec. 5.
