    Shortly after midnight on November 28, 2015, Akwesasne and most of the North Country felt a minor earthquake, minor but enough to rattle and shake most homes. According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake measured 3.2 on the Richter scale. There are two ways in which scientists quantify the size of earthquakes: magnitude and intensity.     (December 2, 2015) On November 27th, at approximately 4:37 a.m., the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service received a complaint of gunshots fired in the vicinity of Third Street, Kanatakon, Quebec. A vehicle sped away from the area quickly after the shots were fired. Upon arrival, police observed damage to windows at the house. No known injuries occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
