Indians of All Tribes celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the historic takeover and occupation of Alcatraz in 1969. At 10:30am on Friday, November 22 the Cornwall Police Service (CPS) received notice of a threat at the Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School (CCVS). The CPS immediately took action and placed CCVS on lockdown to ‘ensure everyone’s safety’. By 12:40pm, CPS had stated that no one was injured during the lockdown but the lockdown remained ongoing. (November 20, 2019) On November 5, 2019, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Save Team was conducting a joint forces operation with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), monitoring activity on the St. Lawrence River. At approximately 7:00 PM, a vessel was observed traveling without navigation lights to a landing and multiple bags were removed from the vessel and placed into a pick-up truck.
