In March 1621, however, a tall, handsome Abenaki Indian from the Maine coast named Samoset, who had learned English from European fishermen and had been living as a guest at Usamequin’s village, appeared at Plymouth, startling the colonists with the words, “Welcome, Englishmen.” He told the Pilgrims about the plague that had depopulated the area in which they had settled. “There is neither man, woman, nor child...

This book is by my all time favorite author. Nicholas Sparks is one of the few authors who completely take over your emotions with his writing. Sparks’ latest book, Last Song, has become one of my favorite books. It completely catches you off guard with the ending along with the twists and turns of the story. I couldn’t put it down.
