Sunday’s game between Akwesasne and Morrisburg was marred by a steady parade of penalties. In spite of all that Akwesasne topped Morrisburg 6-1. The game ran about 45 minutes longer than usual, just due to the sheer number of penalties. The Cornwall Novice Typhoons Black team were recently crowned champions in the Nov. 9-11th tournament at the Benson Center. The Novice black team consisted of 7-8 year old determined girls who went undefeated throughout the tournament. Versatile artists Filfred Tahy and his wife Shirelle are located on Cornwall Island and own Tahy’s Fine Art & Design. Filfred is from the Dine’ Nation, and Shirelle is from Akwesasne.
