The first season of the Akwesasne Women's Soccer season came to a close, and as with any championship game, it went right down to the wire. Hilltop Inflatables scored the only goal in this game last Sunday at Salmon River against the Stars and the action went back and forth right down to the final whistle. VOLLEYBALL The Massena Lady Raiders volleyball team won a berth to the state Class B tournament and won the first round. On Monday, Nov. 10, they won 3-1 against Salmon River at SUNY Canton. Their 2015 record is now 18-0. “This team is a great group of girls who are passionate about volleyball. I am so proud of all of them,” Coach Margaret Trombly said. The Akwesasne Pee-Wee girls team lost a close one to Cornwall earlier this week 4-2 on Cornwall Island. Emily Aldredge and Maranda Richer scored for Akwesasne while Kaitlyn Crowder had a big night for the visitors scoring three and Leah MacDonald scoring once.
