The Massena boys and girls varsity soccer seasons came to an end in the NYSPHAA regional playoffs, while the volleyball team dropped their first game of the year but will still advance to regional play. The girls fell 4-0 to Section 3 champs Jamesville-DeWitt and the boys team 5-0 to Section 2 champs Queensbury. The Lady Devils picked up their second win of the season last weekend as they edged Les Girlz 2-1. Jenna Prieur and Iakokwennienstha Porter scored those goals. Midway through the second half Les Girlz had an excellent chance to tie as they were presented with an open net, but the ball rang off the crossbar and the Devils held on for the win. The Chiefs had a pair of back-to-back games, which turned into back-to-back shutouts last Sunday at the Massena Arena. In their first game of the doubleheader they handed the Norwood Legion a 3-0 loss. Derek Hopps, Matt Thompson and Travis Thompson scored in that win.
