On October 30, 2016 the Akwesasne Mohawk Police conducted a traffic stop in Kanatakon. The driver, Darren Anthony Cook, 29 years old, was arrested on a Bench Warrant issued from Valleyfield Courts. The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Education Division has once again received a very generous donation from an anonymous donor.
