    Michael David, a resident of Tsi Snaihne, has had a passion for gardening all his life. This year he was caught by surprise when he harvested his potato crop to find they had grown as large as nine inches in length. He planted the potatoes in about the middle of May earlier this year, and just harvested them within the last couple weeks. He said he owes this remarkable growth to the compost he has.     On October 30, 2016 the Akwesasne Mohawk Police conducted a traffic stop in Kanatakon. The driver, Darren Anthony Cook, 29 years old, was arrested on a Bench Warrant issued from Valleyfield Courts. Mr. Cook was transported to Canada Border Services Agency in Dundee, Quebec and turned over to the RCMP. On October 30, 2016 the Akwesasne Mohawk Police arrested Dylan York Lazore, 32 years old, on a warrant issued from the Cornwall Provincial Courts. Roosevelt came through this area on a train to formally open the bridge of his namesake, the Roosevelt International Bridge which crossed the St. Lawrence River to Cornwall, Ontario.
