The Haudenosaunee Documentation Committee met on Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Tonawanda Seneca Nation. Attending the meeting were representatives from Six Nations, Oneida, Tonawanda, Cayuga and Onondaga. It was a great day to play football on Saturday and the Wildcats came to play. Led by stellar play from the offensive and defensive units, the Wildcats pounded the Bengals 42-15 winning a “B” Championship. The Six Nations U11 field lacrosse team played a tournament in Maryland as part of the qualifiers into the Dick’s Sporting Goods Tournament of Champions tournament to be held in Tampa, Florida from Dec. 29-Jan. 2. The Six Nations team beat all of the other teams at the qualifying tournament including those from Baltimore, Maryland; and Rochester. Team T19 played in the Flower City Tournament in Rochester over the weekend with their first game against the Fairport Raiders. They fell in this first game by a close score of 10-9 with two goals scored by Isaiah Skidders, Dillon Mullin and Colin Adey; and singles contributed by Kainen Francis-Thompson, Rowisonkies Barnes and Talon Thompson. The Salmon River Girls Varsity Soccer team lost the New York State Class B Regional Semifinal to the Beekmantown Eagles 4-0 Tuesday evening at SUNY Potsdam. The Salmon River Shamrocks made it to the Semifinal round after beating Potsdam Sandstoners with a score of 3-0 in the Section X Class C Soccer Championship. Last Thursday night proved to be girl’s volleyball at it’s finest. The Lady Raiders (Section Class B champs) and the Lady Shamrocks (Section Class C champs) battled back and forth to see who would win bragging rights to say they are the overall Section Champions. Halloween was a fun night for the boys. Big Brother was on a mission to get as much candy as he could. He came home from school with a few bags full.
