  • To The Editor

    Nov 7, 2013

To The Editor, At the risk of speaking out of turn, I want to bring attention to the Natives being fired after lengthy service with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino and the Mohawk Bingo Palace. Nov 7, 2013

Paul Hetzler, Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County The old saw, ‘money doesn’t grow on trees’ will remain valid unless bartering ever becomes the norm, in which case fruit and nut growers will be awash in tree-grown currency. Figuring exchange rates could be quite a headache, I imagine. Our eastern white pine isn’t considered a crop-bearing tree and it certainly doesn’t sprout cash, but it has borne priceless ‘fruit’ all the same. The tallest trees this side of the Rockies, white pines as tall as 230 feet were recorded by e...

  • More Broadcasting Repairs for CKON Radio

    Nov 7, 2013

Due to being located close to the river makes the radio tower a magnet for lightning strikes, which damages equipment. CKON will be going off air for short periods of time for the remainder of the year and into...
