    This past Friday October 27th, the Akwesasne Coalition for Community Empowerment held their annual Trunk or Treat at the Mohawk International Speedway. The event began at 5 pm, with the gates opening to the public. Many different programs and organizations were set up along with many individuals who chose to participate in handing out candy and decorating their vehicles. This past Sunday, October 29th, the DIY #1 – Headboards session was held at the Grand Mohawk Inn's gym with fourteen women participating in this session. A Facebook post, over a month ago, generated more than 100 women stating interest in joining the DIY class.     The third week of the Ontario’s College strike has many of their students worried they may lose an entire semester. Especially concerned are students in apprenticeship and other programs that mandate a certain number of hours for certification.     Submitted by Mae Green The Snye Recreation Annual Halloween was held on Saturday, October 28th. Doors opened at 2:00 pm and in no time at all the gym was filled to capacity. We had well over 300 in attendance. The costume judging started promptly at 3:00 pm. Judging was held for all ages. The judges were looking for the following categories: Prettiest, Scariest, Funniest, Most Original and Judges Choice.
