  • Massena Minor Football teams end their season

    On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, the organizers of the Massena Minors and Majors Football teams were celebrated for completing another successful last couple of months. It was held at the Community Center on Beach St. They were each given a trophy and treated to pizza and drinks with their family.     In an exhibition game on Wednesday October 21st, Nepean took the first win of the season against Potsdam. Potsdam’s only goal came from Breanna Roy when she tied it up with Nepean in the first.     Akwesasne star hockey player Alley Bero, age 19, has started her second year playing Division 1 hockey for the St. Lawrence Saints in Canton. The sophomore already has two goals and two assists in the first few weeks of the season and her large home fan base has followed her to Canton where they cheer loudly each home game at the announcement of her starting line position.     Tsiionkwanontiio Heritage Center located on Helena Road is an 18th century mansion that used to be a stop on the underground railroad, a network of secret routes and safe houses used by black slaves in the United States to escape to freedom.
