    Akwesasne Territory. On October 26, 2011 at approximately 2:30 a.m., members of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police Department responded to a report of a fatal motor vehicle accident on North Road located in the southern portion of Akwesasne. Assistance was provided by the Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department, the Mohawk Council Ambulance service, the Seaway Valley Ambulance service and the Bombay Fire and Rescue Squad.     The fall Drug Take Back Day provided by the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police Department is scheduled for this upcoming Saturday Oct. 29 from 8:00am-3:00pm. The last event like this was held on April 30, 2011 and Akwesasne lead the state in participation on that Prescription Drug Disposal event. Community members wishing to dispose of their expired medicines were able to stop in and drop them off into containers that were sealed and then incinerated.     The annual 7 Miles for 7 Generations walk to benefit the construction costs of the Diabetes Center for Excellence, which has officially begun with phase one of development over the summer. 65 participants had registered for the walk and are still collecting their pledges this week, so the official amount collected by the registrants will be announced at a later date.     On October 10th, 2011 shortly after 4 AM, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the District of Cornwall Island. Akwesasne Mohawk Police officers investigated the occurrence and found the suspect vehicle left abandoned near the shoreline on Angus Delormier Road.
