On Friday, October 9th, Tsi Snaihne School celebrated the fall season with a Harvest Fair. Students were placed into different groups and spent the morning travelling throughout the school to enjoy a variety of harvest-related activities. Some activities included relay races, face-painting, bingo, dancing, bowling, storytelling and more. The staff and students were encouraged to come to school dressed in a ‘harvest theme’. This Monday, October 12 the Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club enjoyed a wonderful trip to the Ferme Hillspring Farms. The collection of 6-12 year olds all had a great time walking through the orchards. They were able to go around and not only see the different types of apples, they were able to find different shapes and all competed to find the biggest apple! The Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department held their third annual boot drive fundraiser on Kawehno:ke (Cornwall Island) on Oct. 12 during the Thanksgiving/Columbus Day holiday.
