Letter to the Editor, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Indian Time’s Kanienkeha translators, Dorothy Karihwenhawe Lazore and Mary Iotenerahtatenion Arquette, for the work they do to render newspaper articles into our native language. It was such an honor to see my article about the Akwesasne Historical Markers fully translated in the September 27th edition of Indian Time. This had to have been a lot of work to have it ready in so short a time. I really do appreciate it. Even though my Kanienkeha isn’t the greatest, I took the tim...

If it were that complex, I’d wager we’d have a lot fewer trees lining our streets. It may not take a scientist to plant a tree correctly, but a lot of money is spent each year to buy and plant trees which may as well be leased, because they will only live a fraction of their expected lifespan. When trees decline and die after 15, 20, or even 30 years, the last...
Who shall say that fox is not angry when tricked? No wise man would say that. It so happened that Fox was angry at Raccoon for cheating him in a swapping match which made Fox vow to get even. Well, Fox got even, all right, and Raccoon never forgot it either. That’s what this story is about. Fox stuck his slim nose through the grass, which grew thick by the river’s edge.
