    Seskehko:wa/September 16, 2014 - The Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education (AMBE), in collaboration with the Chiefs of Ontario will be deploying a survey to learn more about early childhood development, education and employment in Akwesasne. The information collected will help develop programs and policies that aim to improve the well-being of First Nations.     Butters Quick Stop/Saints won their second softball tournament in a row last weekend in dramatic fashion. At Buck Whites ball field the Third Annual Sheyenne Smoke softball tournament was played through the rain on Saturday. But Sunday the sky cleared up and the tournament concluded with a dramatic finish. Akwi David of Butters slugged a homerun into the weeds in a 12-12 tie with St. Boys for the win....

    By Sue Ellen Herne On Saturday, October 4th a group of youth will paddle from the Native North American Traveling College to the Akwesasne Cultural Center in celebration of "Bringing Home the Canoes". There are two historic canoes soon to be on permanent display in the Akwesasne Museum, adjacent to the dugout canoe made in the 1800's by Loran Oakes of Kanatakon.
