    In varsity football action, Massena lost to Potsdam 40-16 on Sept. 8 at Mike Nichols Field in Massena. Massena led 10-0 after a 21-yard field goal by Merrick Taraska in the first quarter, followed by a nine-yard rushing touchdown by Gage Fiacco with 7:41 left in the second quarter.
