It was a beautiful day to hold this year's edition of the Native North American Travelling College Friendship Day which was held at the Tsiionkwanontiio Heritage Site. The annual event featured a fiddler, throat singers, dancers, tug of war, arts and crafts vendors and lots of traditional music. On a beautiful summer day on August 28, about 25 community members gathered at Elder, Eddie Gray's home on Cook Road to participate in the last medicine walk of the season. At approximately 9:12 a.m. on September 2nd, 2015, the Akwesasne Central Dispatch received a telephone call advising that a Seadoo with 4 passengers had capsized on the St. Lawrence River near the east end of Cornwall Island.
