Last weekend in soaring heat, the local girls waited until extra innings to get their bats heated up as well. Legion/Hilltop Inflatables played in their league playoffs and took Orlando/ Open Net to nine innings before exploding with seven runs to win it 10-3. The score was tied at three after seven innings and in the Legion/ Hilltop's half of the ninth inning Orlando/Open Net switched pitchers. It was a heartbreaking loss to a perfect tournament so far as the Akwesasne Women Warriors were blanked 3-0 in their semi-final. But up until then they were unbeatable winning all their games in the preliminary round with 14 goals for 1st place in the tournament.
