The way an adult sees the world and the way a child does are so completely different. My children show me all day how they see things. The Akwesasne Woman Warriors hosted a box lacrosse tournament this past weekend at the A’nowara’Kowa Arena, inviting other woman’s teams from Six Nations, Whitby, Toronto, Grand River and Peterborough to compete in the 2-day event. The Girls Got Game 2010 tournament was Akwesasne’s turn to host the other female teams from around Ontario. The Massena Woman’s Softball League held their end of the season playoff weekend this past Saturday and Sunday at the Alcoa Field. The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino team, consisting of a variety of players from around the North Country, some of whom are casino employees, placed 2nd in the league. Mixed teams of men and women competed this past weekend in a softball tournament for charity, continuing to play through Sunday’s rain showers in the fun and only mildly serious tournament.
