The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe, Environment Division is seeking public comments on proposed revisions to the Water Quality Standards (Standards). These Standards apply to surface waters and groundwaters of the Tribe and are implemented under the authority of the Federal Clean Water Act. As required by law the Standards must be updated every three years to regulate emerging pollutants, refinement of existing standards, and account for updated science. Submitted by Teres Seymour Massena Women’s Softball league held their Annual Breast Cancer Research tournament this weekend, July 13 & 14 at Alcoa 1 & 2 fields. We know that several Akwesasnoron submitted vamps for the art exhibit, and although submission is done for the project, Indian Time would like to feature the submitted vamps in the paper! Even better, Dyan Swamp has booked the “Walking With Our Sisters” exhibit for Akwesasne! Slots filled in fast; the earliest it could come is March 2017. Despite the heat and humidity, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police Department officers enjoyed an “end of the year” fun challenge of Field Lacrosse with Ahkwesahsne Mohawk School students on June 24th.
