    For the first time in local ball history a triple elimination softball tournament was held and it went off without a hitch. The Summer Smash tournament held last weekend at the American Legion in Hogansburg saw The Dark Side defeat The St. Boys in the triple elimination format.     The Lady Devils soccer club had a relatively easy time holding Dairy Queen off the scoresheet 6-0 earlier this week. After a scoreless first half, the Devils started their scoring run with Jenna Prieur and April Castagnier scoring one each. Iastha Porter and Jade Benedict scored two each back to back, and while Deniece Thompson in the Lady Devils net was not very busy, she made several big blocks when needed.     After starting the second round of playoffs 1-1 at the Arena, the Akwesasne Jr. B Indians travelled to Oakville and lost two in a row to end their run for the Founders Cup.     The St. Regis Braves have earned a bye to compete in the President’s Cup in Alberta and seek the community’s help getting there.     In conjunction with her family, the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe's Finance Department will be hosting a Mohawk Auction Fundraiser for our dear friend and co-worker, Hattie Bashaw. Hattie is a long time employee of the SRMT and a great friend to many. Hattie is currently battling cancer and undergoing chemo treatments.
