    Submitted by J. Leaf Congratualtiions to the Seasway Valley Blazers U10 girls soccer team. They took gold at the Ambassador Soccer Tournament in Kingston this past weekend on July 11-12. They won the final game in a shoot out against the Kingston Clippers. This was only after a tie of 1-1 in regulation time and the two – 5 minutes overtime plays.     July 13, 2009, AKWESASNE, NY -- The full-fendered stock cars will take center stage this Friday, July 17th, as SUNY Canton presents Full Fender Frenzy at Mohawk International Raceway (MIR) in Akwesasne. The featured event will be the Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock tour series, with the Action Race Parts Pro Stocks going 50 laps and a $1,500 prize to the winner.     A number of community members have been noticing purple boxes hanging from trees around Akwesasne and also throughout the North Country. The boxes are actually traps for detecting the dangerous emerald ash borer – a beetle responsible for the mass destruction of ash trees in areas throughout North America.
