Manfred Laube, Distinguished Toastmaster from Watertown and Best Buy employee applied for the funds through his volunteer efforts in assisting Akwesasne Toastmasters establish a Toastmasters Club. The Akwesasne Jr. B Indians began their second series of the 2011 playoff season against Halton Hills this past weekend. They played first on Saturday night with Halton Hills taking the early lead scoring in the first 31 seconds of the game. Both teams proved to be an even match as they ended the first period tied at 3-3. Goals scored by the Indians in the first period go to T. Roundpoint, Z. Hopps and K. Davey. The Caughnawaga Indians defeated a seriously depleted Snake Island Muskies on Saturday night at the Kahnawake Sports Complex by a score of 16-11. The Muskies showed up with 11 players and the team’s leading scorer Joe Hall ended up playing in goal. Saturday’s game also saw the debut of Delby Powless in a Caughnawaga Indians jersey. Ky Tarbell participated in the in an elite training camp over the weekend called ESPN Rise Warrior 40. While playing at a tournament in Florida for the Kanienkehaka Krunch lacrosse team he was asked to tryout for the Warrior 40 at Hofstra University.
