The Akwesasne Cultural Center has recently wrapped up another successful basket making class taught by Denise Jock. The last class took place on June 25th, with a potluck and students showcasing their finished projects. There were students of all levels, some were able to finish 6 baskets during their time in class. (July 9, 2018) The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service has started to phase in a plan to equip officers with a life-saving drug that reverses the effects of opioid overdose. Thirty (30) AMPS officers will be trained and equipped with Naloxone kits. All uniformed patrol officers will be provided with Naloxone kits to carry while on patrol.
