    Congratulations to Ms. Dorothy Lazore and Mrs. Sherry Procunier of Quinte Mohawk School! Ms. Dorothy Lazore and Mrs. Sherry Procunier teach the Mohawk Language Program at Quinte Mohawk School together. They have developed this program from the ground up for the last 20-years together and they have been selected as the 2011 Educators of the Year together.     On June 2nd the Massena Lady Raiders defended their Section 10 Overall title by defeating Class C champion Potsdam Central, 14-8 at SUNY Canton. At halftime the score stood at 7-4 and Massena’s overall record improves to 16-1. The Lady Raiders went on to play in the New York New York State Class B Tournament on Saturday, June 4th.   • Kahnawake Mohawks snap 2-game losing streak

    After losing a home-and-home series with the Cornwall Island Redmen the Kahnawake Mohawks downed the Vermont Voyageurs on Sunday afternoon. The Mohawks lost 14-13 to the Redmen on Thursday at home and then dropped a 10-9 overtime decision in Akwesasne on Saturday night. Vermont’s Ethan Farrell (Ben Berry, Brandon Dube) opened the scoring at 3:02 of the first period. Dan Deckelbaum (Dube) made it 2-0 at 5:32. What we were blessed with was a very tacky track that never lost grip all evening long.     This coming Thursday June 23rd Chiefs Tobacco Outlet and Gas will present one of the biggest shows of the 2011 season at MIR with a 100 lap DIRTcar 358 Modified feature event with the winner receiving a top prize of $3000. Drivers will draw for their time trial positions at the gate when they arrive. Top 12 drivers after the qualifying heats will then re-draw for starting spots in the 100-lap contest.
