  • Honeybees the “bee’s knees”

    Dr Barbara Gray|Jun 12, 2008

There are more than 3,500 species of wild bees in North America. Honeybees are herbivores - meaning they eat only plant materials. Many Native American Indians used honey and other bee by-products as medicine and food long before Europeans brought their honeybee “Apis Mellifera,” to America in the seventeenth century. Many still use honey and beeswax. Dictionaries have the spelling of honeybee as one word; however, entomologists use the two-word name, honey bee.  You can safely use either one,...

When her boyfriend Jason breaks up with her, she feels as though her whole world has been severed. Trixie is willing to do anything to get him back and have things as they were, so she and her best fri...

  • He learned me this

    An Anonymous Mother|Jun 12, 2008

Though some I would have never have expected in a million years to learn from my baby, he did give me valuable insight for my next kid or any other kids in close proximity. I was thinking about it the other day and I thought I really should list it. Since as the years pass I’m going to forget or better yet think I figured it out myself. - Baby T taught me that baby gates only work if a child is afraid of heights or if they are properly...

One of the things the fire department used to do was put on a picnic for the members and their families. Sometimes this was a small event with everyone getting together for a barbeque and sometimes it was a huge event with lots of organized activities. One year it was just that, a huge event put together by the members and the ladies auxiliary. It was held on one of the islands and a lot of planning went into just getting everyone there. It was a beautiful Sunday and there was a small flotilla of boats leaving from one of the marinas to transpo...
