    Throughout the past week and a half, the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne has prepared regular updates on the ongoing border crisis.     The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe held their annual tribal election Saturday to elect one chief, one sub-chief and one tribal clerk. In the race for chief, there were two candidates. Mark Garrow defeated David Back 387 to 132. Garrow’s 3-year seat is currently held by Barbara Lazore who did not seek re-election.     Parents piled into on of Salmon River’s first grade classrooms Wednesday morning where they were treated to an ocean-themed play. Students were dressed as octopi, turtles, lobsters, jellyfish and other sea creatures and they acted out an ocean version of The Three Little Pigs.
