After starting the 2014 season on a four-game winning streak, the Snake Island Muskies were handed their first loss on Saturday, May 24. They narrowly fell to the Akwesasne Outlawz 8-6 at Anowarakowa Arena. But before that on Thursday, May 22, the Muskies defeated the reigning 2013 Iroquois Lacrosse Association champion Caughnawaga Indians 22-9 for the second time this season. The Akwesasne Boys and Girls Club recently held their first ever ABGC Lacrosse Clinic on Friday, May 16, 2014. Organized by ABGC staff member Annie Cree, the clinic had 17 participants in ages ranging from 13 to 18. The ABGC Lacrosse Clinic was funded in part by the generous donations from Twin Leaf Express, T19 and Traditional Lacrosse. The Massena Red Raiders boys lacrosse squad closed out the 2014 regular season with a win over the Colton-Pierrepont Colts. The Raiders led 9-0 at the half and worked up to a 17-2 final score. Sako Rourke and Nick Henrie led Massena’s offense with three goals each. Henrie also logged an assist. Ryan Thomas scored twice and assisted twice. Hunter Pyke scored two goals and logged an assist. The Salmon River varsity boy's baseball team played its last regular home NAC game of the season on May 19th against Malone in a close game until the seventh inning. Malone had a spurt in the top of the seventh inning that earned them six runs to win the game 10-3. Salmon River pitcher, Tyler Sisto, gave the Huskies a tough time until the third inning when Malone scored four runs with three unearned.
