The Shamrocks didn't waste time establishing dominance when they scored five goals in the first quarter. As it turned out, the five goals were all that were needed to win but true to Shamrock style, more goals were scored. At the break Salmon River was up 9-1 and they went on to score five more in the third....

The only matchup of the year between the two Akwesasne teams in the Massena Men's Slo-Pitch league took place last Tuesday in a doubleheader at Alcoa field. Despite trailing at one point the St. Boys poured on the runs in the late innings for the 8-4 win against The Chiefs in game one. In the nightcap, the St. Boys blanked The Chiefs 9-0....

MCHS Lady Raiders Softball The Massena Lady Raiders softball squad closed out their regular season on a high note, jumping out to an early 7-1 lead and hanging on for a 27-5 win over Potsdam on Tuesday, May 19. Vanessa Kirkey added a win to her record with nine strikeouts and three walks, while allowing four hits. Evelyn Lilley pitched the first inning, taking the loss for Potsdam. The Snake Island Muskies say their decision to play home games in Cornwall rather than Massena is make it easier for players to get to and from games and the team leaves Massena on good terms. “The players loved it there (Massena Arena), the floor was always kept in good condition and it seemed to be a perfect fit for lacrosse. Friday, May 22 at Mohawk International Raceway saw the defending track champ take the Memorial Cup. The evening also featured the debut of a newly formed Novice Sportsman class. In the Memorial Cup race, defending track champion Billy Dunn worked up from eighth place to add the crown to his mantle.
