Onkwe members have been busy this spring planting and transplanting strawberries, tomatoes and more. On May 19 they transplanted tomatoes into the garden and continued the next day. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne have agreed to extend the Domestic Lane Pilot Project for an additional year, until April 2022. AKWESASNE – Louise Kawennahente Gray, 71, of St. Regis Road passed away early Sunday morning, May 23, 2021 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital after a brief illness. On May 24, 2021at approximately 12 p.m., the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service responded to a residential structure fire in the district of Tsi Snaihne.
