    On May 14, 2012 a community meeting was held in regards to the current state of the CKON Board of Directors. A petition had been drawn up at a previous meeting for the purpose of dissolving the board, creating an interim board - which would create new policies, and hold an election for a new board. Board members were hand delivered a letter signed by the interim board members, as well as a copy of the petition, to inform them of the changes.     On Wednesday, May 16th, Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School celebrated its First Nations Celebration. The purpose of the day’s activities, as described by Richard T.J. Point, was to “demonstrate the pride of our culture,” and to “break down barriers.” The celebration was an all-day event at CCVS, with invitees from Kanatakon School Grade 8, and AMS grade 6, as they are all prospective students.     On May 19, 2012, Theresa Secord and Jennifer Neptune held a workshop to create postcards for basket makers at the Akwesasne Museum. Both women are Penobscot basket makers from Maine. Theresa is the executive director and Jennifer is the program manager of the Maine Indian Basketmakers Alliance. Seventeen people from Akwesasne participated in the project.     Cornwall, Ontario DATE: May 18th, 2012 On May 15th, 2012, while conducting land and marine patrols along the St. Lawrence River, Cornwall Regional Task Force (CRTF) members observed two males onboard a boat near Grassy Island. As CRTF marine operators approached the vessel to investigate, the individuals began to throw garbage bags overboard before fleeing towards Akwesasne, Quebec.     On Sunday, a benefit barbeque chicken dinner was held at the Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department for the Kanatsiohareke Mohawk Community.     Researchers at MIT used a $250,000.00 network analyzer and tested the impact of tin foil helmets on the receptivity of radio-frequency signals.
