    Akwesasne NY - The Salmon River Central School Board of Education election was held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. In an annual event that typically draws at best, 600 voters, the number of voters more than doubled. The Shamrocks played their senior game against Colton-Pierrepont last Sunday afternoon to a 19-5 victory.     Volunteers Shoshoni Ireland and Jhazmayn Jacobs were on hand at the St. Regis Recreation Center last Friday, May 16th. They were sorting clothing donations for the Kashechewan First Nation people who were evacuated because of flooding in their homeland. They are staying at Nav Centre in Cornwall and expect to be there from two weeks up to one month.     On Thursday night, the Closing Reception and Awards Ceremony for the 13th Annual Robideau/Lamitie-King Exhibit was held at For ARTSake in Malone.     Last week was Spring Concert week at the St. Regis Mohawk School. The Kindergarten and Pre-K kicked it off with a concert on Tuesday morning. The Pre-K was up first singing four songs including one called “I Don’t Care for Underwear!” The Kindergarteners followed, singing four songs as well, including one called “No More Pie,” where band director Mr. Justin Hahn took a pie to the face from students.
