    On May 26, a group of very nice visitors came to visit from their community near Frederickson, New Brunswick. They came to see the Skawatsira Program in Kanatakon for the day, and they are working on revitalizing their native language program. On their reserve they have about 1800 members with about 1000 living on the reserve (Maliseet and Mi'kmak). They have been organizing for 4-5 years in their building and planning efforts.     The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne would like to inform the community that starting on Monday, May 25, 2015, the intersection of Brookdale Avenue and Second Street West in Cornwall, ON will be closed to east-west traffic. This is due to the bridge demolition that is taking place on the north-channel high-level Seaway International Bridge. The intersections are expected to re-open on Friday, June 5, 2015.     AKWESASNE, NY - The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Wildlife Services will be conducting an Oral Rabies Vaccination (ORV) drop for raccoons in Franklin County, including the area of Akwesasne, from June 2 and 3, 2015. The ORV program uses fixed-wing aircraft to distribute baits over large geographic areas flying approximately 500 feet above ground level.
