Once again, Clayton & Barb Disotell opened their pool hall doors to host the annual fundraiser in support of the Without Violence Award Scholarship fund. The scholarship fund is awarded each year to Eighth grade students from Akwesasne area schools. An essay is written by the students usually on the subject of violence prevention or awareness. The Salmon River boys varsity lacrosse team currently sits on top of their section 10 northern Adirondack Conference with an 8-0 league record and 10-0 overall. Much of their success is due not only to their sound play on the field but also from their improved performances in the classroom.
