    On Wednesday, April 25th, Henry and Jean Laughing suffered a fire at their home. The fire, with flames shooting out horizontally, destroyed their barn, killing some chickens in the barn as well others outside that had been badly burned, which had to be killed. There was additional damage to the siding on the homes of Jean and her daughter.     The Moving Wall is a half-size replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial. It was created by John Devitt who wanted to bring the experience of visiting the wall to people who could not travel to Washington DC. John Devitt and other Vietnam veterans built the wall and it has been on tour since October 1984.     The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform the community that it is has officially accepted the results of the referendum on the proposed Kahnawà:ke Casino Project held on Saturday, April 28th. A total of 1,697 votes were cast. The final result was 846 voting against the proposal, with 822 voting for (50.7% to 49.3%).
