    Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service found over 1000 marihuana plants growing inside two garages at two separate properties on Cornwall Island.     Fourth-graders at the St. Regis Mohawk School received chokecherry tree seedlings as part of Alcoa’s 10 Million Trees program and in celebration of Arbor Day. Launched in 1998, the goal of Alcoa’s 10 Million Trees program is to plant 10 million trees by Alcoa employees and their families in Alcoa communities by 2020.     On Friday, the K4 class at Kanatakon School put on a spring concert for their families. Alice King said that they have been practicing the songs for a while.     On Friday, a benefit spaghetti dinner and bake sale was held for baby George Jacobs. George is three years old and is in need of a kidney transplant. He has been on dialysis for two years. The family has been traveling to Ottawa three times a week and he will hopefully have the transplant soon.
