The Jefferson Jaguars have selected their “Super Students” from grade 4, 5, and 6 and for very good reasons. In grade four, one of the students picked lives in Ahkwesahsne: Blake Lazore. In grade five are three more boys from Ahkwesahsne, Dyson Lazore, Treyton Ransom, and Kanientaraktha Silver. It was an enjoyable ceremony in the gymnasium by Mr. Richards as emcee and by many teachers looking on with their classes. Last week Indian Time received a lively, smiley visitor all away from down the hill in St. Regis! Santaye Buckshot-Lazore, age 7, visited Shannon Burns with his grandmother, Barbara Buckshot. Santaye is in the Cub Scouts’ Tiger Club and he was looking for signatures from various community members, like a newspaper worker. Santaye was a pleasure to have as a visitor. 1 gal. dandelion 1 lb. smoked sausage 3 small potatoes, cut and diced 2 Tbsp. rice 4 Tbsp. vinegar 1 to 1 1/2 qt. water 1 tsp. salt Wash and cut 1 gallon dandelion greens. Place in bottom of medium size pot. Put 1 pound of sausage, cut in pieces, in pot. Put more dandelion greens on top of sausage. cut and diced potatoes and put on top of greens. sprinkle 2 tablespoons of rice over potatoes. Boil all 40 minutes and add 4 tablespoons of vinegar before serving. If needed add more water if it starts to boil dry....

Benson Kelly nominated the 1947 Bombay High School baseball team. The Bombay High Team won the class “C” Championship of the Franklin- St. Lawrence League by defeating the North Lawrence team 7-0. Sweet Dreams proved their undefeated regular season was no fluke by emerging as the 2008-2009 Can-Am Men’s Pool champions. Home field advantage proved to be a big factor in the championship match between Sweet Dreams and 37 West. Sweet Dreams won the first game at home 10-7.
