Congratulation’s to a noteworthy Akwesasronon athlete, 18-year-old Hiio “Hurricane” Herne. He has made the All Star Roster in the North American Hockey League. Hiio has been playing Junior hockey in Boston for the Boston Junior Rangers since September 2010. The Herkimer Generals traveled to Adirondack CC Monday afternoon for a Region III Softball doubleheader and certainly brought their bats with them. Herkimer outscored the Wolves 47-0 between the two contests, winning game one 20-0 and game two 27-0. Last Thursday night the Massena Red Raider boys hosted the Canton Golden Bears under the lights. The weather was cold but the boys were heating up the field and gave the fans an exciting game especially in the last minutes of the last quarter. On Thursday, April 21st, the Lady Red Raiders continued their winning ways by defeating the Lady Bulldogs at the Mike Nicholas field.
