The St. Lawrence Thunder Bantam hockey team competed in the 2010 USA Hockey Tier 2 National Championships held in Wayne, New Jersey on April 7 – 11, 2010. In their first game of the preliminary round on April 7th, the Thunder played Pennsylvania and came out with a 4 to 0 win. Cory Garrow had 35 saves in the nets for the shutout win. The Cornwall Atom A Typhoons Girls hockey team competed at the 2010 Provincial Championships April 9-11 in Mississauga, Ontario. Team members from Akwesasne include Lexi Lazore, Kamryn Ransom, Amber Thomas, Maya Swamp, Bailey Thomas and KC Herne. Cornwall began round robin play against the Sarnia Lady Sting winning 7-0. Kolten Oakes-Cook played on the Atom B Rep team for the Cornwall Colts. Colts won East division during regular season and won the entire UCMHL making them the playoff champions! The Colts went undefeated throughout the playoffs starting their series in Cornwall at the Si Miller ending in a 3-3 tie. In Smith Falls for Game 2 the Colts won 4-0. Congratulations to LX Herne for recently qualifying for the US Bowling sectionals. He was one of a handful of bowlers who qualified out of the Bowlmor Lanes in Massena. The bowling sectionals were held in Ogdensburg April 10 and 11. LX bowled in the U 11 age group therefore he is not eligible to move on to the State Tournament in Rome.
