The last hurrah for the Akwesasne youth broomball players was last weekend on Cornwall Island. A Pee-Wee and Bantam tournament was held with teams coming in from Russell, Ontario and Finch, Ontario. In the Pee-Wee division Akwesasne Two won the championship but the Russell Rugrats had to make them fight for it. The teams went into a shootout as the home side won the game in regulation, but earlier in the tournament the Rugrats won their matchup, so the shootout was a tie breaker for first...

Each girl really stepped it up this year to get one step closer to the Gold Medal. On Monday, the Akwesasne Herricanes faced off against reigning gold medalists from 2014, Garden River.
