    Local 55+ summer games get under way April 10 and continue until June 5. This year’s competitions will be a prelude to the Eastern Ontario 55+ Regional Games to be held in Cornwall and area, August 20. The summer games kick off with an open doubles euchre competition, April 10 at the Cornwall Legion. On April 18, dart players are in action at the Cornwall Legion; bid euchre takes place April 26 at the Nordun Senior Centre in Winchester; and contract bridge rounds out the April competitions, April 30, at McConnell Manor, in Cornwall.     Akwesasne - The Akwesasne Wolves wrapped up the season with a Game 7 loss to the Casselman Vikings, but the deep trek into playoffs was also the farthest they’ve ever been in Akwesasne Wolves Franchise History. The Wolves stayed powerful all season with their top 5 players in points as Dillon Barr (49), Sylvester Bzdyl (48), Alex Conroy-Terrance (45), Dominick Coyle (45) & Oakley Thomas (35).   • Cornwall Hosts Team from Sweden in Friendship Mini-Tournament

    Over the weekend, the Seaway Valley Rapids, a minor bantam team from Cornwall, hosted the KIK team from Sweden. KIK stands for Kunulv Hockey Club, a town north of Gothenburg, and their jerseys have a fortress on it, which has stood since the 14th century. This is their 4th tournament gold and they are also league champions. Congratulations Novice Black for their undefeated season.
