Local 55+ summer games get under way April 10 and continue until June 5. This year’s competitions will be a prelude to the Eastern Ontario 55+ Regional Games to be held in Cornwall and area, August 20. Akwesasne - The Akwesasne Wolves wrapped up the season with a Game 7 loss to the Casselman Vikings, but the deep trek into playoffs was also the farthest they’ve ever been in Akwesasne Wolves Franchise History. Over the weekend, the Seaway Valley Rapids, a minor bantam team from Cornwall, hosted the KIK team from Sweden. KIK stands for Kunulv Hockey Club, a town north of Gothenburg, and their jerseys have a fortress on it, which has stood since the 14th century.
