As a normal part of the duties of an Environmental Health Officer (EHO), houses in Akwesasne are inspected on request. As a part of the inspection process the EHO looks at health and safety concerns in and around the home and makes recommendations on corrective actions the home owner can do to make their home and surrounding area as healthy as possible for them, their family and any visitors to their home. Akwesasne Territory - On March 28, 2013 at around 9:50 a.m. Tribal Police arrested Steven J. Mitchell, 28, of Akwesasne, New York. Mr. Mitchell is charged with Petit Larceny, Felony Criminal Mischief 3rd degree and Felony Burglary 2nd degree.
