Massena varsity winter sports coaches all agree that their respective seasons, all of which contended for a sectional title, were successes. Massena girls hockey, which included KC Herne of Akwesasne, made it to sectional finals where they lost to Potsdam 3-1 on Feb. 3. “We relied heavily on our first and second lines, but as the season went on we were able to develop some depth and scoring from other players like Meg Wilmshurst and Hannah Chilton. The North Franklin Shamrocks travelled to western New York a couple weekends ago and came home champions. They played teams from all over New York State at Amherst's North Town Center in Buffalo, NY. The tournament started on Friday, March 17, 2017 with the Shamrocks taking on Pelham and picking up the win, 3-1.
