New evidence in the case against Frank Laughing and Jennifer Jackson-Laughing came to light this week when court documents revealed several inaccuracies in details the couple told Indian Time last week regarding accusations that they faked their 4-year-old daughter’s colon cancer. Court records also identified a new charge against the couple that is unrelated to their daughter’s alleged cancer, but questions Jackson-Laughing’s pregnancy. The couple was arrested initially in May after police investigated a call from the daughter’s Headsta...
On Monday, the New York State Legislature passed an emergency extension bill that will add an extra $1.60 in tax to every pack of cigarettes sold in the state. The bill also called for the state to begin enforcing an earlier law that was never enforced but which requires stores on Indian reservations to charge tax on tobacco products sold to non-Native customers. The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe, along with other New York State tribes, believes tribes have the sovereign right to sell any goods tax free, regardless to whom they are selling. The new...

However, any celebration was short-lived as the school board came under fire with accusations of narcissism and it was quickly learned that the vote did not meet state guidelines anyway. There were fou...
