A player with local roots helped her team win the New York State U-12 Girls State Hockey Championship. The Akwesasne Wild men’s hockey team ended the season Tuesday evening just narrowly missing their shot at earning the championship trophy. The Wild met their match in their Massena opponents, taking to the ice at the Massena Arena and keeping fans on their toes through three overtime rounds.
