    To ensure a continuing supply of telephone numbers, a new 838 area code will be added to the 518 area. This is known as an area code overlay. An overlay does not require customers to change their existing area code. Beginning March 18, 2017 calling changes from seven to ten digits. Who’s affected?     Several hundred people came out to the Children's Powwow, hosted by the Native North American Traveling College on March 11 at the former First Americans IGA. Young dancers ranging from toddlers to teens got to demonstrate various dances and learn how a powwow works, guided by older lead dancers.
