The New York State High School Hockey Coaches’ Association will once again be honoring inductees to the Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Among the inductees are the 1991-92 Salmon River Shamrocks who defeated Pittsford 8-6 in the Division II State Championship game for the school’s 4th state championship. This team will be honored at the New York State Hockey Championships in Utica, NY on Saturday March 14th, 2009. Akwesasne, New York — The North Franklin Sports Program is getting ready for another season of spring sports by conducting registration and hosting a Youth Lacrosse Clinic from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, March 28th and Saturday, April 4th. The clinic is being coordinated by organizers of North Franklin Youth Lacrosse and registration will be held at the Salmon River Central School’s Arena Lobby. There was an excellent turnout for North Franklin’s grade 3 and 4 Division Tournament on Saturday, March 7th at Salmon River School. The teams invited were Massena, Chateaugay, and St. Lawrence. Each team got to play the other 3 teams throughout the day every hour and the Championship game was held at 4:30. After eight years of playing in Division II and winning the 2006-07 and the 2007-08 indoor championship title the Stars moved on to Division 1 this season and maintained a spot in third right from the start.
