Many on the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation will be interested in the outcome of United States of America vs. Eric C.     AKWESASNE — The defense has made a motion that a grand-larceny charge be dropped against a Hogansburg man accused of taking land from its deeded owner. And it is using a pending U.S. Court of Appeals case to bolster its argument, in hopes that, one day, Indian land-claim issues will be heard by U.S. Supreme Court justices.     On March 3rd, the St. Lawrence University women’s hockey team defeated Cornell in Ithaca, NY by the score of 3-1 to win the program’s first ECAC Hockey Championship.     [Cornwall]: Ontario Power Generation wishes to advise hunters, anglers and recreational boaters on the St. Lawrence River that ice booms will be removed from narrow stretches of the river, starting on March 12, 2012. These booms, which were placed in the river off Galop Island, in the North Channel, near Johnstown and at Prescott last November, are chain-and-wood devices used to prevent the build-up of ice during the winter.     Each year the Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club hosts a “Kids Helping Kids” Fundraiser and on Saturday, February 18, 2012, Club Members, Staff and Board members banded together to raise funds to assist one of their own, Braxtyn Dumas.
