MCHS Hockey The Massena boys varsity hockey squadron claimed a 4-3 win over Potsdam in the first round of the Section 10 Division I playoffs on Feb. 24 at Massena Arena. The Raiders were to have defended their sectional title against Canton on Feb. 29. A week beforehand, Massena bested Potsdam 7-0 in the NAC regular season closer. The little guys and girls had a chance to see what a fast paced sport they got into. Last Sunday two North Franklin Mite teams hosted teams from Malone, Tri-Town and Louisville in their play day. The Salmon River boys hockey squad entered Thursday night's game against the Thousand Island/Alexandria Bay Islanders knowing a win would get them to Cheel Arena and closer to a DII Championship title.
